Mayor inaugurates tournament for blind

JAMMU, Dec 24: In an impressive, well attended and colourful function, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rajinder Sharma inaugurated UT Level Cricket Tournament for blind, being organised by Cricket Association for blind Jammu and Kashmir (CABJ&K) at Guru Harkishan Public School Nanak Nagar, here today.
Mayor Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who was accompanied by Ajay Kumar, General Secretary CAB J&K,
Rohit Sharma President and
Imam Hussain Treasurer of Cricket Association for blind Jammu and Kashmir.
Principal Guru Harikishan Public School and the staff members were also present on the occasion.
Around 50 blind cricketers drawn from across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are taking part in this 2-day long tournament, the final of which will be played tomorrow at the same venue.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest praised the organisers for holding the event in a most befitting manner, adding that the need is to pat and promote these differently abled sportspersons to showcase their ability.
