JAMMU, Feb 12: Day 4 of the Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament witnessed thrilling quarter-final action as teams competed fiercely for a place in the semi-finals.
In the 2nd quarterfinal, Punjab Police delivered a commanding 7-0 win over Poonch XI, with Pawandeep Singh named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
The 3rd quarterfinal saw J&K Police edge past Jammu South in a tightly contested match decided by a penalty shootout, which J&K Police won by 3-0. Goalkeeper Probjot Singh earned Man of the Match award for his exceptional display under pressure.
In the 4th quarterfinal, Shahbad Hockey Academy dominated Baba Shri Chand Ji Hockey Club, Sujanpur by 10-0. Navraj Singh was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant performance.
With the semi-final line-up now taking shape, the tournament continues to showcase high standards of competitive hockey and exemplary sportsmanship, promising exciting contests in the upcoming rounds.
