Maanay, Mishti emerge Champions in 1st J&K UT Ranking TT C’ship

JAMMU, June 16: The 1st J&K UT Ranking Table Tennis Championships 2025 concluded on a high note with thrilling matches and exceptional talent on display at the Indoor Sports Complex, Jammu. The tournament, organised by the J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, witnessed strong participation across all age categories.
In the Men’s Singles final, Maanay Mansotra defeated Pratham Raina in a hard-fought 3-2 battle, while Mishti Aggarwal claimed the Women’s Singles title by edging past Myrah Dewan 3-2. Earlier, Maanay overcame Akash 3-1 in the semifinals and Pratham blanked Amit Badyal by 3-0 to reach the finals.
In junior categories, Syrah Dewan won both the Hops Girls (U-11) and Cadet Girls (U-13) titles. Other winners included Akshaj Garg (Hops Boys U-11), Advik Garg (Cadet Boys U-13), Saiyam Nischal (Sub-Junior Boys U-15, Junior Boys U-17), and Myrah Dewan (Sub-Junior Girls U-15, Junior Girls U-19). Arushika Dabar secured the Junior Girls U-17 title, while Pratham Raina also won the Junior Boys U-19 category.
Chief Guest, Rajeev Sharma, Member of the J&K Sports Council, praised the organizers and highlighted the urgent need for developing sports infrastructure in J&K. Guest of Honour Satpal, Divisional Sports Officer, also addressed the gathering. Prominent personalities present included Satbir Singh, Ajay Sharma, Arshi (Indoor Stadium Manager), Maninder Singh, Rajan Sharma, Meenu Rajesh, Vasu Dewan and Narinder Singh.
