JAMMU, Oct 14: The 47th Jammu District Table Tennis Championship showcased exceptional talent, culminating in thrilling matches. Maanay Mansotra clinched the Men’s Singles title, defeating Ritvik Gupta in a closely contested final with a score of 3-2. Arya Giri lifted the Women’s Singles trophy by overcoming Mishti Agarwal 3-1 in her final match. The men’s final was particularly intense, with both competitors displaying exceptional skills, but Maanay emerged victorious.
In the semi-finals, Maanay dominated his match against Samarth, winning 3-0, while Ritvik secured his spot in the finals by defeating Samardev with the same score. The Under-11 categories saw Alena Arora win the Girls’ title, with Syrah Dewan as the runner-up, and Saiyam Nischal triumph in the Boys’ category, beating Aarav Gandotra.
In the Cadet Boys (Under 13), Saiyam Nischal claimed victory over Samardev Bansal, while Myrah Dewan won the Cadet Girls’ title, defeating Syrah Dewan. Ritvik Gupta emerged victorious in the Sub Junior Boys (Under 15) against Saiyam Nischal, and Myrah Dewan topped the Sub Junior Girls’ category, defeating Srishti Kapoor.
In the Junior Boys (Under 17), Ritvik Gupta secured the title, overcoming Hunny, while Mishti Agarwal claimed the Junior Girls’ title, with Myrah Dewan as the runner-up.
The tournament, organized by the Jammu District Table Tennis Association, was part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative, receiving support from community leaders and sports officials, including Rajeev Sharma, who praised the sportsmanship displayed by all participants.
