JAMMU, Sept 2: A leadership camp was organized for the Students Council of Junior Wing of KC Public School by British Council sponsored Teaching Assistants Suzanne Henry and James Richardson along with School Creative Head Sonia Thakur.
The proceedings were divided into three segments. The first segment was about ‘Seven Habits’ by Stephen Covey which dealt with self-awareness, empathy and positive energy. The segment started with a leadership prayer followed by a motivational presentation on ‘Seven Habits of Happy Kids’. After that, students were divided into seven groups. Each group was asked to evolve a script highlighting any one of the habits. The groups showed creativity in putting their ideas across very effectively in theatre form.
Suzanne Henry dealt with the theme of ‘Social Action’ which is an integral part of leadership. The groups were given some topics on social issues which they had to discuss and then share through visual and verbal presentation. Laying emphasis on effective management, James Richardson motivated the students to carry out responsibilities assigned to them with a strong sense of commitment.
The interactive awareness programme was a great guiding force in which students learnt that a leader can best see and understand what needs to be done to strengthen group dynamics.
Headmistress, Sofia Rana inspired the Student Council members to keep aspiring to inspire others by setting goals and working consistently to achieve them.
Principal Amarendra Mishra also expressed his views and stated that the camp conducted by Suzanne Henry and James Richardson will prove beneficial for the Student Council members.
