LCC, JKCC, ESCC register victories, qualify for next round

JAMMU, June 25: Lion Cricket Club (LCC), Junior Khalsa Cricket Club (JKCC) and Ever Shine Cricket Club (ESCC) registered wins and qualified for next round of the ongoing Ist Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Gold Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Cantt Ground, Satwari, here.
In the first match, Lion Cricket Club (LCC) crushed Youth National Conference Cricket Club (YNCCC) YNCC by 6 runs and entered into next stage.
Batting first, LCC scored 155 runs for the loss of all out in 19 overs. Manjeet Singh scored 36 runs and Sohit made 29 runs.
For YNCCC side, Barjinder Singh Bawa scalped 4 wickets, whereas Surpreet Singh took 1 wicket.
In reply, YNCCC failed to chase the target and scored 149 runs by losing all wickets in 19 overs. Manu Khajuria was the top scorer with 49 runs, whereas Atinder made 30 runs.
From LCC side, Manu was the wrecker-in-chief with 3 wickets, whileas Deepak scalped 1 wicket.
Manu of LCC was awarded with man of the match title.
In the second match, Junior Khalsa Cricket Club (JKCC) registered 76 runs win over Young Tigers Cricket Club (YTCC), Doda and sailed into next round of the tournament.
Batting first, JKCC made 216 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Harinder Pal Singh Bawa played splendid inning of 54 runs in just 32 balls, whereas Vishal made 32 runs.
From YTCC side, Sunny took 3 wickets, whereas Manjit scalped 2 wickets.
In reply, YTCC failed to chase the target and were bundled out at 140 runs for all out in 19 overs. Honey made 33 runs, whileas Raja scored 31 runs.
From JKCC side, Surinder bowled superb and took 3 wickets, whileas Sukhwinder took 2 wickets.
Harinder Pal Singh Bawa of JKCC was adjudged as man of the match.
In the third match of the day, Ever Shine Cricket Club (ESCC) outplayed Shastri Nagaar Cricket Club (SNCC) by 12 runs and registered berth in the next round of the tournament.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, ESCC made 148 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Lovely was top scorer with 33 runs, whileas Micky contributed with 24 runs.
From SNCC side, Rajat scalped 3 wickets, whereas Kultaran and Rohit took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, SNCC were bundled out at 136 runs for all out in 18 overs. Rajat made 17 runs and Raghu scored 16 runs.
From ESCC side, Lovely was the wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets and Bansi Lal took 2 wickets.
Lovely of ESCC was adjudged as man of the match.
