KARGIL, Mar 21: On the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, a moment of pride and celebration has come for Ladakh as its Taekwondo athletes delivered outstanding performances at the All India Inter-University Taekwondo Championships 2026.
Continuing an impressive legacy, taekwondo players from Ladakh have maintained a consistent medal-winning streak at the national level since 2021, showcasing exceptional talent, discipline and determination.
Adding to this, International Taekwondo player Shahnaz Parveen clinched a Gold Medal at the prestigious championship held in Odisha from March 16 to 20. In another remarkable achievement, Sonam Chospal also secured a Gold Medal at the All India Inter-University Championship hosted at DAV University, Jalandhar.
Both athletes represented Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Haryana, which has continuously extended strong support to Ladakhi players by offering opportunities through the sports quota and nurturing their talent at the national level.
The Ladakh Taekwondo Association congratulated both players for their exceptional achievements. General Secretary Anayat Ali Shotopa expressed gratitude to Coach Ashoka of MDU for his dedicated support and for strengthening the bond between Ladakh and Haryana in promoting taekwondo.
