JAMMU, June 20: PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1 Jammu inaugurated the much-anticipated Regional Sports Meet 2025-26 today, bringing together young athletes from various Kendriya Vidyalayas across the Jammu region. Organized under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Regional Office Jammu, the four-day event will run from June 20 to 23.
The meet began with competitions for girl participants on June 20 and 21, featuring events across multiple disciplines such as Swimming, Skating, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Chess, and Mallakhambha in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 age categories. Boys’ events will follow on June 22 and 23, showcasing the same sports and age divisions.
Principal Akash Gupta warmly welcomed all participants, escort teachers and officials, expressing pride in hosting this significant event that celebrates athleticism, discipline, and camaraderie. The Regional Sports Meet is not just a competitive platform—it is a celebration of the spirit of sportsmanship, aiming to identify and nurture emerging sports talent for future national-level opportunities.
