KUPWARA, Jan 16: The District Kupwara Carrom Championship, held at the Indoor Stadium in Handwara, witnessed a vibrant display of talent and sportsmanship, marking a successful start to the series of carrom tournaments organized under the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council’s “My Youth My Pride” initiative. Players from various categories – Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior – competed under the official rules of the International Carrom Federation, making the event a significant milestone for the growing enthusiasm for the sport in the region.
The Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association, which organized the championship, has now announced the upcoming district tournaments. These events will continue across several districts, offering a platform for local players to showcase their skills and passion for carrom. The tournaments are open to schools, colleges, institutions, and individual players, and are expected to bring together top talent from across the region.
The coming tournaments are as follows: District Anantnag: Indoor Stadium, Bijbehara, on 17th & 18th January, District Kulgam: Indoor Stadium, Qoimoh Kulgam, on January 19 & 20, District Shopian: Indoor Stadium, Batpora Shopian on January 21st & 22.
