JAMMU, June 23: Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) and Shastri Cricket Club outclassed rivals and sailed into the next round of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School cricket ground here.
The first match of the day was played between Singh Cricket Club (SCC) and Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC).
KCC won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 153 runs in 20 over. Harpreet Singh played a splendid inning of 52 runs, whereas Surinder made 27 runs.
From SCC side, Sunny and Deepak took 2 wickets.
In reply, SCC failed to chase the target and were bundled out at 100 runs for all out in 18.1 overs. Chandan scored 36 runs and Dilwar made 19 runs.
From KCC side, Kullu and Abhishek Salathia scalped 2 wickets each.
Harpreet Singh of KCC was declared as man of the match.
The second match of the day was played between Shastri Cricket Club and Striker Cricket Club.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Shastri Cricket Club made 129 runs in 20 over. Rompy was the highest scorer with 41 runs whereas Aavesh made 19 runs.
Chander took 2 wickets and KK scalped 1 wicket.
In reply, Striker Cricket Club were bundled out at 74 runs for all out in 18.1 over and lost the match. Jimmy and Amit scored 21 and 9 runs respectively.
For Shastri Cricket Club side, Rompy was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, whileas Sahil scalped 3 wickets.
Romy of Shastri Cricket Club was declared as ‘Man of the Match’.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Abhijot Singh, Honey Chib, Rajinder Singh and Bunty.
