Kerala’s Abhijith Amal Raj claimed gold in the men’s advanced figure skating category as the sport made its debut at the Khelo India Winter Games 2026. A former world champion in artistic roller skating and Asian titleholder, Abhijith returned to ice skating after nearly a decade to compete on a national stage.
At just 24, he has also launched Adler Vision, a figure and roller skating academy in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, providing training with international coaches to over 100 students. Alongside his artistic partner, Vacasya Lakshmi Narayanan, Abhijith aims to nurture future athletes and provide national competitive exposure. Recruited under sports quota by the Income Tax Department of Maharashtra in 2024, he says Khelo India is about inspiring young skaters as much as winning medals.
