SRINAGAR, Sept 4: The formidable side of Kerala thrashed low profile Puduchery by seven goals to nil to advance in the ongoing 58th National School Games U/17 boys Football Tournament, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports at Bakshi Stadium, here today.
Earlier, Haryana outplayed Chattisgarh by three goals to one in an easy contest at the same venue. Hardeep, Vinay and Gurjeet of Haryana displayed outstanding football skills along with anticipation and motorability and scored one goal each to outclass the rivals by (3-1).
At Polo Ground, Odisha prevailed upon Gujarat by three goals to one (3-1).
In another match at Polo Ground played today, strong side of West Bengal drubbed Goa by three goals to nil (3-0).
At Kashmir University Ground (A), Chandigrah toppled Nagaland by two goals to one (2-1), while in another match played at this venue, Delhi scripted a narrow win over Maharashtra in a hard-fought match by a solitary goal.
Meanwhile, at University Ground (B), Karnataka thrashed Andhra Pradesh ruthlessly by 7 goals to nil (7-0), while in another exciting contest at the same venue Tripura clinched (2-1) victory over — to advance in the tournament.
