KCPS holds Faculty Development Program on Child Counselling

JAMMU, July 13: KC Public School conducted a Faculty Development Program focused on child counselling, reaffirming its dedication to creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment. The initiative, which began in 2023, aims to equip educators with essential skills in child psychology and counselling to support students’ holistic growth.
The program is being conducted by Saloni Priya, Director of Ummeed Counselling and Consulting Services, Kolkata. A counselling psychologist with over 25 years of experience, she led sessions on identifying signs of distress, improving communication, and creating safe spaces for students to express themselves.
The training includes interactive workshops, case studies, and teacher-led presentations on interventions applied with students. Tailored strategies for different age groups have been a key part of the program, enabling teachers to recognize emotional cues and respond effectively.
Chairman Raju Chowdhary emphasized the importance of empowering teachers to support students’ mental, social, and emotional well-being. Arti Chowdhary, Managing Director, Arjun Chowdhary, Vice Chairman, and Amarendra Kumar Mishra, Principal, also lauded the initiative and highlighted its positive impact on school culture.
