JAMMU, June 1: Brigadier Khuda Baksh Public Higher Secondary School held an impressive ceremony for the election and installation of its new Students Council at the Sahir Ludhianvi Cultural Hall of the Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT), Jammu.
The school was honoured to welcome distinguished guests including Haji Abdul Hamid Choudhary (Patron-in-Chief), Arshad Ali Choudhary (Chairman, GDCT), Shaukat Javed (Veteran Trustee), along with special invitees Dr. Suleman Choudhary (renowned medical professional and former Principal, Govt. Medical College, Kathua), Inzar Ahmad Rana (JKAS officer) and Dr. Nazia Choudhary (Member Trustee and daughter of GDCT founder, late Masood Ahmed Choudhary).
The programme began with a warm welcome by NCC Cadets, followed by bouquet presentations to the guests. Principal Nehreer Khan delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the celebration. The ceremonial lamp lighting marked the symbolic start of the event, followed by vibrant cultural performances-a soulful Dogri song, energetic Gojri dance and the school song.
The pipping ceremony and oath-taking were conducted with dignity by Principal Khan, where the newly elected council pledged their commitment. Dr. Suleman Choudhary lauded the school’s dedication to grooming responsible citizens, while Chairman Arshad Ali Choudhary praised the students’ sense of duty and leadership. The highlight of the event was the heartfelt announcement of Rs 1,00,000 by Haji Abdul Hamid Choudhary as a token of encouragement.
Japneet delivered the vote of thanks, while Sumaiya Mariyam and Aarushi Jamwal compered the event with elegance. Special appreciation was extended to Nitinjeet Kaur, CCA Coordinator, for her seamless coordination of the memorable occasion.
