SRINAGAR, May 8: The All J&K Chess Association has announced the Kashmir Province Chess Championship 2025–26 from May 15, aimed at identifying and nurturing budding chess talent across the region.
The tournament will take place at the Srinagar Sports Club, Wazir Bagh and will feature competitions in multiple age categories — Under-07, Under-09, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 — for both boys and girls.
According to a statement by the Association, the championship will serve as the selection platform for players who will go on to represent the Kashmir division in the UT Level Chess Championships 2025–26, beginning May 21 in Srinagar or Jammu.
Young chess enthusiasts across Kashmir are invited to participate, with the last date for submitting entry forms set as May 14 by 5:00 pm. No spot entries will be allowed. All participants must present valid age proof during registration. To ensure fairness and focus, selection matches for each age group will be held on separate dates.
