Karman, Athrav shine as J&K nears 4th straight win

JAMMU, Dec 24: Jammu & Kashmir moved closer to their fourth consecutive innings victory in the U-16 Men’s Vijay Merchant Trophy at CK Pithawala Ground, Surat thanks to a masterful century by Karman Singh and a sensational 8-wicket haul by Athrav Sharma.
Opting to bat first, J&K amassed a commanding 405/9 declared in 85 overs. Karman Singh anchored the innings with 142 off 258 balls, while Hadi Amin (54) and Hammad Firdous (50) provided crucial support. Arslan Nayyar added 43 as the team dominated the bowling attack.
In reply, Sikkim were bowled out for 120, with Athrav Sharma wreaking havoc with 8/24 in 19 overs, supported by Sanil Singh (2/39). Forced to follow on, Sikkim reached 30/3, trailing by 255 runs, with Chopal and Ladip at the crease.
