Kabra Altaf becomes 1st Kashmiri woman to achieve Ni Dan in Judo

SRINAGAR, Aug 21: Kashmir’s Kabra Altaf has achieved a historic milestone by earning the prestigious Ni Dan (Second-Degree Black Belt) in Judo, becoming the first woman from the Valley to do so. Known for breaking barriers, Kabra is already the first SAI-accredited female Judo coach and the first female gold medalist in Judo from Kashmir.
With multiple national medals and participation in top training camps across India, Kabra has emerged as one of the most accomplished judokas in the region. She cleared her Ni Dan exam in New Delhi, conducted by the Judo Federation of India.
A recipient of the State Award in Judo, she is now pursuing an International Judo Federation (IJF) Level Coaching Certification. Kabra expressed heartfelt thanks to her well-wishers, the J&K Judo Association, and Alpha Aesthetics Gym & Spa for their support.
