JAMMU, Apr 30: The University of Jammu witnessed an action-packed second day of the Inter-Departmental Tournament 2025-26 for men and women, held at the Gymnasium Hall. The tournament, which includes Carrom and Badminton competitions, is being organized under the aegis of the Chairman, Campus Sports Committee, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, with active coordination by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI.
In Carrom (Men’s), Geography Department defeated Law Department by 2-0, while Botany Department secured a 2-0 win over the MCA Department. Geology Department outplayed Design Your Degree Department by 2-0 and Botany later edged past SHTM Department in a close 2-1 match. Geography also triumphed over D.S.R.S Department with another by 2-0 victory.
In Carrom (Women’s), D.S.R.S Department beat The Law School by 2-1, but later lost by 0-2 to Law Department. Design Your Degree Department overcame the Geology Department by 2-1 and then defeated the Commerce Department by 2-0. The Law Department also secured a 2-0 win over the Botany Department.
In Badminton (Men’s) semi-finals, Law Department defeated ICCCR & HRM Department by 2-0 and Physical Education Department beat Sociology Department by the same margin. In Women’s semi-finals, D.S.R.S Department won by 2-0 against Design Your Degree Department, while Geology Department narrowly defeated English Department by 2-1.
The successful execution of the day’s matches was ensured by the dedicated efforts of officials Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia and Gagan Kumar, promoting fair play and enthusiasm throughout.
