UDHAMPUR, Nov 25: The Department of Students Welfare (DSW), University of Jammu, in collaboration with Udhampur Campus, inaugurated the two-day cultural festival “Display Your Talent 2025 – Devika Zone” today. The event, held at the Udhampur Campus, celebrates art, music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary talent, offering a platform for students to showcase their creativity.
The festival was conceptualized under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Rai, who emphasized the importance of cultural engagement for students. The event is part of the larger “Display Your Talent” initiative, which has been decentralized into five zones-Tawi, Devika, Ravi, Pir Panjal and Chenab-to promote inclusivity and greater participation from remote areas.
The chief guest of the event was Shruti Awasthi, Regional Director, IGNCA J&K. The festival was held under leadership of Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Rector of Udhampur Campus. In the Western Vocal Solo category, Manya from Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur secured the first position, followed by Sania Sambyal (GCW Udhampur) in second place and Shivansh Mahajan (GDC Udhampur) in third.
In Light Vocal Solo, GDC Udhampur took the first prize, GCW Udhampur secured second, and GDC Chenani placed third. In the Classical Vocal Solo, Rajiv Singh from GDC Chenani won the top spot.
In Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Uttkarsh Varnwal from GDC Udhampur claimed first place, with Navjot Singh (GDC Udhampur) in second. Western Group Song was won by GCW Udhampur, while Indian Group Song saw GCW Udhampur taking the top prize, followed by GDC Udhampur in second and Udhampur Campus, JU, in third.
In Jai Dogra Song, GCW Udhampur took the first prize. In Fine Arts, Rahul from GDC Udhampur won Cartooning, Komal Sharma from Bharatiya College secured first in Poster Making and Manvi Rathore from GCW Udhampur won Painting. Quiz Competition was claimed by Udhampur Campus, followed by GDC Udhampur in second place. The event concluded with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, where Prof. Yash Pal Sharma presented trophies to the winners and participants.
