JAMMU, Dec 21: The day-long Junior JKUT Judo Championship 2025 concluded today at the Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, here today.
As per handout issued the event was organized by the Judo Association Jammu & Kashmir under the banner of the J&K Sports Council, the championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from judokas across the Union Territory.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Ritika Slathia, Manager, Indoor Complex, while the closing ceremony was graced by former national medallist and J&K Sports Council member Shweta Thakur as the chief guest. Bouts were officiated by senior judo coaches Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Jugal Kishore, Ritika Slathia and Danish Sharma. Prominent attendees included Suraj Sharma (Hony Gen. Secy JKJA), Manish Chatwal, Rohit Sadhotra and Ranjot Singh.
In the girls’ category, winners included Sana Sharma (Below 44 Kg), Adan Arshad (Below 48 Kg), Niharika Sharma (Below 52 Kg), Nandani Chib (Below 57 Kg), Zainab (Below 63 Kg), Anshika Sharma (Below 70 Kg), Janvi Thakur (Below 78 Kg), and Ikshita (Above 78 Kg). Boys’ champions included Sunit Lal (Below 55 Kg), Hitesh Chibber (Below 60 Kg), Ridhum Sharma (Below 66 Kg), Rajveer Singh (Below 73 Kg), Vipul Yashovardhan (Below 81 Kg), Hadi (Below 90 Kg), Musaif Nazir (Below 100 Kg) and Rajan Bhardwaj (Above 100 Kg).
