JAMMU, Sept 15: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, inaugurated the Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi (Men) Tournament 2025-26, marking the commencement of the University’s Annual Sports Calendar. The opening ceremony was led by Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, who conducted the ceremonial toss, interacted with players and emphasized the importance of traditional sports like Kabaddi in promoting physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork among students.
The inaugural day witnessed intense matches with the following results: GDC Hiranagar defeated GDC Ramnagar by 6 points; MIET Jammu beat GDC Mendhar by 11 points; GDC Chenani outplayed GDC Basohli by 11 points; GDC Doda won against GDC Marh by 12 points; GDC Gaghwal triumphed over Dogra Degree College by 8 points; BDC Udhampur defeated GDC Bishnah with a margin of 27 points; and GDC Khour edged past GDC Dharmari by 5 points.
The event was attended by several notable faculty and officials including Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dr. Vimal Kishore, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Dr. Mahak, Harinderpal Singh, Richa Mandla and Rishiv Sharma.
The technical officiating were Anil Sharma, Ajay Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh and Gagan Kumar.
