JSS holds inter-school singing competition for teachers

JAMMU, Mar 2: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, organized an inter-school solo singing competition for teachers under the Sahodaya initiative, celebrating folk music and the role of educators in preserving cultural heritage. Teachers from various schools participated enthusiastically, performing traditional folk songs from different regions of India.
The event was graced by Suraj Singh, an eminent ghazalist, and Brij Mohan, a renowned music composer, who served as judges. Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School, also attended the event and highlighted the importance of folk music in connecting people with their roots.
The competition began with a sapling presentation and lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing growth and knowledge. The winners were Aman (IDPS, Jammu) won first prize, second prize went to Diksha Verma (Doon International School, Jammu) and third prize to Vertika Sharma (Model Academy, Jammu).
Consolation prizes were awarded to Rajan Kumar (APS Kaluchak), Manmohan Janotra (Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua) and Anu Jamwal (APS Akhnoor). The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of participants, organizers, and dignitaries.
