JP World School celebrates Sports Day

JAMMU, Dec 23: The Eleventh Annual Sports Day of JP World School, Jammu was celebrated with great mirth, verve and gaiety, here today.
Around 600 students participated in the event.
The first lady of the school, Mandeep Kaur Hundal was the chief guest on the occasion.
The dignitaries were welcomed by the Junior School Head Boy, Vaidik who presented the welcome address.
The colourful event commenced with the unfurling of school flag by the chief guest on the melodious tunes played by the school orchestra.
The synchronised March Past by the contingents of the four houses namely Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Tawi began entailed by the lighting of the torch and the oath ceremony.
The meet was declared open with the releasing of balloons by the chief guest. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events that mesmerised the audience with their thrilling and enthusiastic performances. The German Drill, Frog Race, the Balloon Race, the Relay Race are some of the events that remained the main attraction.
The academic as well as sports prizes were given away the end of the programme
The coveted yearly awards like Albert Einstein, Aryabhatta, Siddharth Basu, Mahatama Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Sonal Man Singh were awarded to Shabaan Malik (11th Non Med.), Aarav Vaid (10th Lily), Maria (6th Lily), Nausheeba (6th Sunflower), Wasif Tak (8th Sunflower), Balpreet Kour (8th Lily) respectively whereas the most coveted Student of the Year 2017-18 award was bagged by Ankush Badyal (10th Lily).
The Sports Excellence Awards were conferred to 8 students namely SHAURYA (4th Lily), Sant Singh (6th Sunflower) Aditya (10th Lotus), Shreyansh (8th Lily), Faheem Mirza (10th Lotus), Shaban  Malik (11th Non Med.) Amandeep Singh Bali (11th Med.)
Jhelum House bagged the best March Past as well as Cock House trophy for the year 2017-18.
The event was compeered by Firdous and Priya Sharma.
The Principal of the School, Jitinder Singh Hundal in his address congratulated and lauded the winners for their zeal and invincible spirit.
The vote of thanks was presented by Junior School Head Girl, Samia. The event culminated with national anthem.
