JAMMU, Jan 2: The Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Boxing Teams have been selected to participate in the 9th Elite Men and Women National Boxing Championship, scheduled at Noida from January 4. The tournament sponsored by J&K Sports Council and fielded under the J&K Amateur Boxing Association (JKABA), the team includes 10 men and 6 women elite boxers representing districts including Jammu, Kathua, Doda, Kupwara, Ramban, and Udhampur.
Men’s team: Aarif Mohd (Doda), Shubam Lalotra (Kathua), Prajwal Jamwal (Jammu), Mahroof Shamas (Kupwara), Vinod Bhardwaj (Jammu), Deepak S. Katoch (Udhampur), Chander Dev Singh (Jammu), Akash Deep Baigra (Jammu), Sanjay Sharma (Jammu), Mohd Sultan (Kathua).
Women’s team: Vandhana, Samta Devi, Sangeeta Devi and Shruti Devi from Ramban and Shivali Chib and Ananya Choudhary from Jammu.
Dr. Nirmolak Singh, JKABA President, congratulated the boxers and wished them success, urging them to showcase their talent, discipline, and sportsmanship.
