J&K’s Chitra selected for Senior Women’s Multi-Day Challenger Trophy

JAMMU, Mar 26: Chitra Singh Jamwal, a talented all-rounder from Jammu and Kashmir, has been selected to represent Team-A in the prestigious BCCI Senior Women’s Multi-Day Challenger Trophy, being held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from March 25.
Chitra’s selection comes after her outstanding performances in recent tournaments, including scoring 270 runs in the Senior Women’s One-Day Challenger Trophy in January 2025, with a crucial 65 runs against Madhya Pradesh. She also scored a century in the Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy against Goa. Although not initially in the 15-member squad, she was called in as a replacement for Anaadi Tagde from Madhya Pradesh.
Chitra, known for her six centuries in her career, joined the team on March 24 but did not feature in the Playing XI for the opening match against Team-B. The selected team includes; Minnu Mani (Captain), Richa Ghosh (WK), Shipra Giri, Shubha Satheesh, Shweta Sehrawat, Vrinda Dinesh, Mukta Magre, Henreitta Pereira, Tanuja Kanwar, Priya Mishra, Vasavi A Pavani, Anundhati Reddy, Sayali Sathgare, Chitra Singh Jamwal and Pragati Singh.
