JKPL: Kanwal Tigers team beats Royal Goodwill CC by 6 wkts

JAMMU, Dec 26: The BIG Jammu Kashmir Premier League (JKPL) 2025-26, organised by 92.7 BIG FM, was inaugurated at University of Jammu Ground, here today, with great enthusiasm and a large turnout of cricket enthusiasts.
The opening match saw Kanwal Tigers register a convincing six-wicket victory over Royal Goodwill Cricket Club. Batting first, Royal Goodwill CC posted a competitive total of 164 runs. In reply, Kanwal Tigers chased down the target of 165 with confidence and composure. Ankush Bandral delivered an outstanding all-round performance, scoring an unbeaten 72 runs and taking a crucial wicket. He was deservedly declared the player of the match.
The league was inaugurated by Sports Minister, Satish Sharma. He praised the initiative of organising a professional cricket league and highlighted the role of sports in positively channelising youth energy and combating social challenges such as drug abuse. He assured full Government support for youth-oriented sports programmes.
Dr. Nigam Gupta, Managing Director, HexaMed Technologies, was present on the occasion. Vikrant Sharma, Cluster Head-North, 92.7 BIG FM and RJ Juhie thanked all supporters and officials for making the opening event a success.
