JKPDC drubs Shaheen FC to enter QFs

JAMMU, Jan 31: Trouncing Shaheen FC in an exciting contest in the pre-quarterfinals, JKPDC sealed berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2nd Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Football Tournament, being organized by State Sports Club at Mini Stadium, Parade ground, here.
JKPDC won the match by four goals to three (4-3) via penalty shootouts, after both the teams were at 0-0 in the stipulated time.
Despite good moves by goalkeepers and defence line of both the teams, none of the teams succeeded in scoring a goal in the stipulated time.
In the penalty shootouts, Imad, Munir, Yasir and Gulzar scored the goals for JKPDC, while Arun Vikas Thapa and Kamaljit netted the goals for Shaheen Football Club.
The match was officiated by Vijay Kumar, Ricky Kumar, Dil Bahadur, Hilal Ahmad and Mohinder Kalsi (Physio).
The Chief Patron of the Tournament is Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM), while
Sports Minister, Imran Raza Ansari, MoS Sports, Sunil Sharma and President BJP J&K, Sat Sharma are the Patrons and Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East is the Chairman of the Tournament.
Rakesh Khanna is the Organizing Secretary of the Tournament, while Naresh Dogra is the General Secretary and Mohan Lal as Member Organizing Committee.
