JAMMU, Oct 29: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jammu and Kashmir Police will organize a ‘Run for Unity’ on October 31 in Jammu, celebrating his remarkable contribution to national integration and unity. The event will commence at 10 am from Gulshan Ground, proceed via Bagh-e-Bahu, Gujjar Nagar Bridge and culminate at Maharaja Hari Singh Park.
Addressing a press conference, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, emphasized that the initiative aims to educate youth about Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in uniting the princely states and strengthening the nation. Students from various Schools, Colleges and Universities are expected to participate in the run.
The DIG added that various programs at police post levels are being organized to engage students and the community in learning about Sardar Patel’s vision and contributions. DIG further announced that a parade will be organized at Gulshan Ground, where all police and paramilitary forces will come together.
