JKP officer completes Ironman 70.3 Goa

JAMMU, Nov 9: In a remarkable feat of endurance, DIG Sameer Sharma of the Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police successfully completed the Ironman 70.3 Goa today, bringing pride to the Union Territory.
The challenging 70.3-mile triathlon began early morning at Miramar Beach, comprising a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling and a 21.1 km run. The event was flagged off in the presence of dignitaries, including Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and saw participation from around 1,200 athletes from around the world.
Hailing from Jammu and an AGMUT cadre IPS officer, Sharma was recently transferred from Lakshadweep to the J&K segment. Speaking to Excelsior, he said, “I completed 1.9 km swimming in the sea, 90 km cycling and 21 km running in the allotted time. About 1,200 people participated this year.”
DIG Sharma trained intensively for two months to prepare for the event. His accomplishment underscores the dedication, discipline and fitness spirit of the J&K Armed Police, inspiring colleagues and youth across the region.
