JAMMU, Dec 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Mini Football Association (JKMFA) in collaboration with Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu inaugurated the 1st open under-19 boys football tournament to search the talent, here.
The competition was inaugurated by Prof. Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education University of Jammu.
Dr Brij Baloria, general secretary of the Association welcomed the chief guest and the other dignitaries present on the occasion and highlighted the previous achievements of the Association.
He said, the the State team has bagged gold medal in the under-19 boys at Kanyakumari in 2013 and won gold in the Senior Women Category at Roorkee in 2014.
The inaugural exhibition match was played between DBN Amarvilla School and MHAC School Nagbani, in which DBN emerged winner by five goals to three (5-3).
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Romesh Sharma, Jai Bharat and Ravish Vaid.
The competition will be played on knock-out basis from today to December 6, 2014. Arun Jamwal officiated the match.
