JKCC outplays UVCC to enter semifinals

JAMMU, Nov 27: JKCC Jammu got better of UVCC by 5 wickets in the quarterfinals to sail into the semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Diwali T20 Cricket Cup, being organized by Youth Welfare Association Cricket Club Simbal Camp at Government Boys High School, Simbal Camp, here today.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, UVCC  made 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.  Vikrant top scored with 56 runs, while Rompy and Jagandeep Singh contributed 20 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For JKCC,  Monu and Ashu bagged 3 wickets each, while Uday , Bawa and Ashu Kumar took one wicket each.
JKCC, in reply, chased the target in 19.2 overs easily by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Ashu top scored with 54 runs, while Jatin contributed 40 runs to the total. Vivek Singh also chipped in with 18 runs.
For UVCC, Mittu, Arvind , Raman, Rompy and Himanshu took one wicket each..
Ashu WAS adjudged as man of the match for his all-round performance.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh (Physical Education Master) and Gurvinderpal Singh as umpires, while Gurmeet Singh was the scorer.
