JAMMU, July 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced the appointment of selection committees for the upcoming 2025-26 season, based on the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Abdul Qayoom, Vidhya Bhaskar and Meenu Singh Slathia. The appointments were approved by the JKCA Sub Committee and take effect immediately.
Former first-class cricketer Sarabjeet Singh has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Senior Men’s Selection Committee. A highly experienced wicketkeeper-batsman, Sarabjeet represented J&K and Services in 91 Ranji Trophy, 72 List A, and 7 T20 matches. Joining him on the committee are seasoned professionals Dhruv Mahajan and Arshad Bhat.
The Junior Men’s Selection Committee will be headed by Arun Sharma, with Samiullah Beigh, Jagtar Singh, and Vikrant Taggar as members. In women’s cricket, Ankita Jalla has been named Chairperson of the Senior Women’s Selection Committee, accompanied by Anuradha Sharma and Masrat Ahad.
The Junior Women’s Selection Committee will be led by Pratibha Bhasin as Chairperson, with Payal Chaudhary, Nusrat Jan, and Hinan Maqbool as members. These appointments mark a significant step in JKCA’s commitment to strengthening its talent identification process and building competitive squads across all age and gender categories.
