JAMMU, Dec 29: Jammu & Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted its Annual State Council Meeting at the State Headquarters, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services & Sports and President of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, along with Anuradha Gupta, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and State Chief Commissioner.
The session reviewed achievements, ongoing activities, and future initiatives aimed at promoting character building, leadership, discipline, and community service among youth. Anuradha Gupta highlighted the organisation’s commitment in expanding Scouting and Guiding programs, while Satish Sharma appreciated the contributions of volunteers, leaders and office bearers in fostering patriotism and social responsibility.
The Minister said that the J&K UT Branch of Bharat Scouts and Guides continues to grow from strength to strength, producing disciplined, responsible and socially aware citizens who are always ready to serve the nation.
“The spirit of ‘Service before Self’ displayed by the Scouts and Guides reflects the finest values of our society and strengthens the nation in times of adversity,” the Minister said. He assured continued support of the Government towards organisations that work for the holistic development of youth and contribute to build a resilient, disciplined and service-oriented society. The Minister also announced a contribution of Rs 11 lakh out of his CDF for Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Dignitaries present included Rajinder Singh Tara, Vice President; Fayaz Ahmed Nikka, Sr. Vice President; Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports; Ashok Kumar, Vice President; Nasreen Khan, State Secretary cum Administrative Officer; Wg. Cmdr. (Retd.) M M Joshi, State Commissioner AR(S) and Gulshan Ara, Joint Administrative Officer cum State Commissioner AR(G), along with district representatives and State Council members.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging all contributors to the growth of Scouting and Guiding in J&K.
