JAMMU, Nov 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) conducted first leg of the UT-level National Role Play & Folk Song, Dance competition at GBHSS Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event was part of the National Population Education Programme (NPEP) cum Adolescence Education Programme implemented by NCERT, New Delhi, aimed to raise awareness among adolescents on issues such as healthy growth, nutrition, personal safety, substance abuse, safe use of the internet, environmental protection and healthy relationships.
Teams from all 10 districts of Jammu Division participated, presenting entertaining, informative, and thought-provoking performances that were widely appreciated by the audience of around 250. The audience also interacted with participants on the content and presentation of their performances.
The programme was inaugurated by Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Secretary, JKBOSE / Honorary Director, while Dr. Sanjeev Goswami, Director Academics, JKBOSE and UT Project Director, NPEP, delivered the keynote address. Dr. Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Deputy Director Academics, welcomed the guests. Performances were judged by Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Mohd Shafi Wani and Promila Manhas. Sugandh and Syed Kashif Hashmi managed proceedings, and Chander Kumar presented the vote of thanks.
