JAMMU, Oct 26: The Senior Men and Women J&K UT Wrestling Championships 2025 concluded at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here today. The championships, featuring freestyle wrestling for senior categories, were organized under the patronage of Jai Bharat (Gen. Secretary) and Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman of NGO Healthy India Stronger India, who graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
Dheeraj Sharma, former international wrestler, along with dignitaries Raju Sharma, Vijay Pehlwan, Gurdeep Singh, Ajay Bharti, Sahil Dagoria, Kusum Rani, Vireshwar Bhardwaj and Muskan Rajput, were present to felicitate winners and deliver the vote of thanks.
J&K Police clinched the All-Over Best Trophy in the 33 Men & 19 Women categories. Key results included:
Men’s winners included: 57kg – Mohd Aslam (Gold), Aman Choudhary (Silver), Vishal Choudhary (Bronze); 61kg – Natter Singh (Gold), Wakeel Singh (Silver), Ankush Mahish (Bronze); 65kg – Kulwinder Singh (Gold), Keshav Singh (Silver), Sadak Hussain (Bronze); 70kg – Rohit Singh (Gold), Mohd Saqib (Silver); 79kg – Ranjeet Singh (Gold), Gulshan Chib (Silver), Haqiqat Singh (Bronze); 86kg – Muneer Ahmed (Gold), Bahadur Khan (Silver), Riyaz Hussain (Bronze); 92kg – Mohd Hafeez (Gold), Kulbhushan Singh (Silver), Nissar Ahmed (Bronze). In 97 kg: 1st Nissar Ahmed, 2nd Sanjay Kumar and 3rd Mohd Amit Singh while in 125 kg winner was Liyakat Hussain.
Women’s winners included: 50kg – Upasana (Gold), Madhuri (Silver); 55kg – Mishti (Gold), Upasana (Silver); 60kg – Manvi (Gold), Sunakshi (Silver); 76kg – Sunakshi (Gold). Mementoes were distributed to officials and volunteers for their contributions to the event’s success.
