JAMMU, Jan 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Senior men’s and women’s teams of Tennis Ball Cricket have been selected for participation in the 36th Senior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, scheduled to be held at Nagpur, Maharashtra from January 19 to 22.
As per handout issued the screening of the selected teams was conducted by the J&K Sports Council today at MA Stadium, Jammu. The teams were finalized following two-day selection trials held at the same venue on January 4 and 5, 2026. The selection process was carried out under the supervision of the J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association President B.K. Tikku, General Secretary Farooq Salroo and Trials Incharge Gulshan Rattan. The UT teams are scheduled to depart for Nagpur on January 16.
The Men’s team will be led by Captain Sunil Kumar and includes Himanshu Chib, Rohit Verma, Ankush Sharma, Mohsin Ashraf, Wajid Ahmad, Faizan Hamid, Mudassir Hussain, Mohd Asif Parray, Adil Gaffar, Kewal Singh, Azaan Manzoor, Zeshan Nabi and Rahul Kumar. Mohd Shafi has been appointed as Manager, while Mohd Shahid will serve as Coach.
The Women’s team, captained by Heena Bhat, comprises Shabnum Manzoor, Mir Arjuman, Nilofer Manzoor, Insha Ashraf, Azra Manzoor, Iqra Yousuf, Tabinda, Nayeema Ali, Kaneez Fatima, Navaya Sethi, Gousia, Iqra Manzoor and Maheena Azad. Miss Zainab Javid will accompany the team as Coach, with Sajad Ahmad as Manager.
