J&K-UT Open Karate C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 15: The J&K UT Open Karate Championship 2024, organized by Skai Renmei Karate J&K, affiliated with Shitokai Karate Renmei India and the Karate Association of India, was held at the Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Stadium, Jammu. The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 200 students representing various districts and schools from across Jammu and Kashmir.
The championship also hosted an Open Challenge Cup, with outstanding performances from individual and team participants. Rajveer Singh won the gold medal, followed by Kavish in second place and Rohit in third. Among schools, Army Public School Kaluchak secured the first prize, Lawrence Public School Sidhra won second place and Shemford School took third.
Ranjit Chopra, a prominent Congress leader, graced the event as the chief guest, commending the participants for their dedication and emphasizing the importance of sports in youth development.
