SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The J&K UT Level Ball Badminton Championship for Boys and Girls, Session 2025–26, commenced today with enthusiastic participation from players across the Union Territory. Over 200 athletes from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir took part, reflecting the growing popularity of the sport in the region.
On the opening day, 15 matches in the 5s format were held across Sub-Junior, Junior, Youth, and Senior categories for both boys and girls. Additionally, 10 matches were conducted in Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles events.
Organized by the J&K Ball Badminton Association under the Ball Badminton Federation of India and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the championship will continue until March 28. Medal winners will earn the opportunity to represent the Union Territory in upcoming National Championships. Officials, coaches, and sports enthusiasts attending the ceremony praised the organizers for providing a strong platform to nurture young talent and promote ball badminton across Jammu and Kashmir.
