JAMMU, Jan 10: The Jammu & Kashmir UT Gymnastics Championship 2025-26 was inaugurated by Anil Gupta, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Jammu, at Indoor Sports Stadium, Jammu.
Organized by the Gymnastics Association of J&K under the aegis of the Gymnastics Federation of India and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the championship has attracted over 100 gymnasts from across the Union Territory. Notably, more than 30 participants from Kashmir Province are competing for the first time, highlighting the sport’s growing reach.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr Gautam Goel as guest of honour, along with Tarsem Sharma, Executive Member, Satyam Gupta, President and Anishwar Chatterji Koul, General Secretary of the District Gymnastics Association, Jammu. Er Kiran Wattal, President of the Gymnastics Association J&K and Vice President of the Gymnastics Federation of India, thanked the participants, their parents, and the J&K Sports Council for their support.
The opening day results: In the Under-8 Floor Exercise, Kristina Razdan claimed first place with a score of 3.00, followed by Gaurika Gupta (2.90) in second and Nivanshi Thapa (2.30) in third.
In the Under-10 Girls Floor category, Misti Sharma topped with 2.30, Dishita Dogra secured second place with 2.00 and Ekan Bajwa finished third at 1.90. The Under-12 Girls Floor saw Myra Gupta winning gold with 3.30, Rida Malik taking silver at 3.10 and Navisha Sharma earning bronze with 3.00.
In the Under-14 Girls Floor, Anubhooti Gupta led with 6.50, Manya Sharma was second with 5.00, and Siddhi Chhetri and Shivanshi Sharma tied for third at 4.40. The Under-17 Girls Floor category was topped by Ravika Bansal with 5.30, followed by Somya Sharma at 5.00 and Sundrya Jamwal in third place.
