JAMMU, Dec 8: The J&K UT Benchpress Championship 2025 concluded today at Indoor Stadium, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, highlighting the strength and dedication of powerlifters from across the Union Territory.
The championship culminated with a medal distribution ceremony graced by Rekha Mahajan, state vice president, BJP as chief guest; Adv. Ankur Sharma, spokesperson, BJP and Keshav Chopra as guests of honour and Rajat Sharma as special guest.
Rekha Mahajan praised the medal winners for their discipline and hard work and emphasized BJP’s commitment to promoting sports and fitness among youth. Adv Ankur Sharma highlighted the importance of physical strength and mental resilience, linking sports to national development, while Keshav Chopra spoke on sports as a tool for community building. Rajat Sharma underscored the media’s role in promoting local sporting talent.
The event was organized under the guidance of Umesh Raina, Coach, and Ajay Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Power Lifting Association, who conducted the proceedings and presented the vote of thanks. Prominent attendees included Pushkar Parashar, Sahil Mahajan, Master Manish and Rahul Nargotra.
