J&K Under-14 Boys Cricket team Selected for 69th NSG

*Only one player found over-age out of 48 tested

JAMMU, Jan 15: The Selection Committee of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, has finalized the Under-14 Boys Cricket Team to represent the Union Territory in the 69th National School Games, scheduled to be held at Sikar, Rajasthan from January 19.
According to the official handout, the team was selected strictly based on the recommendations of the duly constituted Selection Committee and comprises 16 players along with three standby members. The complete selection list has been uploaded on the SGFI portal after thorough scrutiny.
The selected players are Rehan Abass, Owais Ishaq, Saksh Gupta, Jasim Shabir, Mohammad Hubaish, Asim Rehman Reshi, Ehsaan Nazir, Mohammad Ibraheem Bhat, Faisal Amin Pandith, Muhammad Mudrik Beig, Sharib Showkat, Mohammad Usmaan, Shaid Ali, Vivansh Rajput, Bhavyam Bhagat and Haris Bin Rahman. The standby players are Rehan Hilal, Musadiq Younis Dalal and Haazik Nazir Baba. Suresh Singh will serve as coach, with Aarif Husain Mir as manager.
The official said as part of the selection process, original documents of all shortlisted players were verified and age verification/bone tests were conducted at GMC, Jammu, to ensure transparency and fairness. Out of 48 players tested, only one was found overage. The officials clarified that this player was neither included in the earlier list nor in the final selected team. All selected players are age-eligible and cleared all verification parameters. The Under-14 Boys Cricket Team will depart for Rajasthan tomorrow to participate in the 69th National School Games.
