J&K thrashes Tripura in Football

SRINAGAR, May 20: Jammu and Kashmir, under-16 Football Team defeated Tripura team by Eight Goals to One Goal at Kalyani, West Bengal today.  With this win J&K team qualified for semi-final of Tier II of the Championship. It was their second Win in the group.
The Scorers for J&K were Basit Bashir, who scores first goal for his team in seventh minute, Vivasvan 17th and 50th Minute, Asrar 31st, 36th, 54th and 89th minute and Dawood scored his maiden goal in 68th minute.
Tripura scored lone goal at 86th minute.
The team is to play Semi-final match against SAI XI on 21st May 2013. The top teams of Tier II shall qualify for Main Round of Championship being played at Pune.
The team is being accompanied by Shri Javed Ahmad Sofi, Football Coach of J&K State Sports Council.
