JAMMU, Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir Tennis Ball Cricket teams brought laurels to Union Territory by winning twin medals at national-level championships held in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In the 33rd Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, organised from December 18 to 21, the J&K Junior Boys team finished as 2nd runners-up among teams from 28 States and eight Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh emerged champions, while Goa finished runners-up.
In the All India Tennis Ball Cricket Championship (Men & Women) held from December 19 to 20, the J&K Senior Men’s team secured the runners-up position after losing the final to Pondicherry. Earlier, J&K registered convincing victories over Purvanchal and Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinal and semifinal respectively.
President, J&K Tennis Ball Cricket Association, B. K. Tickoo, congratulated the junior and senior teams, officials, and coaches for their remarkable performance and appreciated the proactive support of the J&K Sports Council in providing facilities to the athletes.
