JAMMU, Sept 6: J&K Softball team won Gold medal, while Punjab and Delhi clinched Silver and Bronze medals in the 10th Senior North Zone Softball Championship, which concluded today at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Chandigarh.
Director of Sports, Haryana was the chief guest on the occasion and boosted the morale of the players.
J&K won the qualifying matches from Delhi with the score 6-2 and Chandigarh with 6-5.
In semifinal matches, J&K team won match from Delhi with the score 6-2 and in the final, J&K team won the match from Punjab with a score difference of 5-0 and fix top place in the Championship.
J&K Softball team players were Sunny Singh, Jasbir Singh, Ajay Singh, Vikram Singh Chib, Ayush Singh, Sachin Singh, Anukul Bhagat, Ghar Singh, Amit Sharma, Parshant Singh, Amit, Aman Singh, Vikram Singh Chib, Pardeep Singh, Sagar Chib, Sumeet Singh and Sahil Thappa. The coaches with the team were Rohit Jamwal and Rawat Singh Manhas, while Manager was Harvinder Singh Sodhi.
Secretary JKSFA CL Bhat and Ex-President Yuva Rajput Sabha Surinder Singh Gilli said by winning Gold medal, the team has brought laurels to J&K in general and country in particular.
