J&K Open Tennis C’ship 2025-26 underway

JAMMU, Feb 13: The J&K Open Men and Women Tennis Championship 2025-26 witnessed thrilling contests today, with top players asserting their dominance and sealing quarterfinal berths.
In Men’s Singles, Romit Sharma edged past Ashish Bali by 9-6, while Amar Sharma recorded a 9-4 win over Parth Gupta. Quarterfinal action saw Shaurya Pratap Singh outclass Amar Sharma by 9-5, Hardeep Singh defeat Akhilesh Sharma by 9-2 and Gurleen Singh secure a 9-2 victory against Abhinav Sharma, earning semifinal spots.
In Men’s Doubles, the pair of Sajjad Bhat and Hardeep Singh dominated Rutvik Salwaan and Parth Gupta 9-1, followed by a 9-3 win over Ashish Bali and Sanjeev Rometra. Gurleen Singh and Shaurya Pratap Singh also advanced with a 9-6 win against Aryan Jamwal and Romit Sharma.
The Girls’ Singles Round Robin saw Sarah Mahajan defeat Sheezah Majeed by 6-2, Palak Sahu overcome Sarah Mahajan by 6-4 and Sheezah Majeed by 6-3, while Arushi Kumari remained unbeaten with wins over Sheezah Majeed (6-3) and Sarah Mahajan (6-3).
