JAMMU, July 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Masters Basketball team clinched the silver medal at the 2nd Jacob Koshy Memorial Championship 2025, held at Trivandrum, Kerala, after a close-fought final against Delhi. The match ended with a narrow 62-68 loss, showcasing a thrilling contest till the final whistle.
Top scorers for J&K were Iqbal Singh (22 points), Ranbir Singh (20 points), Shubham (13 points), Vishal Sharma (5 points) and Varun Nair (2 points).
Despite the loss, the team’s performance was widely appreciated for its fighting spirit, determination, and sportsmanship. Their run to the finals highlighted the strong presence of basketball talent in the Union Territory’s masters category. The silver medal marks a significant achievement for J&K on the national basketball stage.
