J&K Kalarippayattu team leaves for 17th National C’ship

JAMMU, May 26: Thirteen talented athletes from Jammu & Kashmir have been selected to represent the Union Territory at 17th National Kalarippayattu Championship, scheduled from May 30 to June 1, 2025, in Trivandrum, Kerala. The team received a warm send-off from Anissa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer of the J&K Sports Council, who encouraged the athletes to perform with dedication and make the UT proud. She also lauded the Kalarippayattu Association of J&K for its efforts in promoting this traditional martial art. The selected athletes are Nitin Kumar, Chirag Puri, Pratham Vaid, Daiwik Gupta, Sajan Shan, Adharv Singh Pawar, Manvi Sharma, Anandika, Adarishta Manhas, Angel Gupta, Jagriti Sangotra and Aapurti Saini. During the team photo session, dignitaries including Manjeet Singh (Chairman), Lalit K. Gupta (President), T.P. Singh (Veteran Athlete) and Danish Sharma (General Secretary) of the Kalarippayattu Association of J&K, wished the team success.
