JAMMU, Feb 13: Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) gymnasts once again made a remarkable impact at the National Games, clinching a total of seven medals on the final day of the gymnastics event. The team secured two Gold, two Silvers and three Bronzes, showcasing their skill, determination and hard work.
Muskan Rana continued to dominate the competition, bagging another Gold in the Ribbon event and a Bronze in the Clubs event. This brought her total to two Gold, one Silver and two Bronzes, solidifying her place as one of India’s top gymnasts.
Manya also had an impressive performance, winning a Bronze in the Ribbon event, complementing her previous Bronze medals in individual apparatus finals. Her consistency and effort were key to the team’s success. The team’s collective effort resulted in a Silver medal in the team event, with Muskan, Manya, Vaibhavi and Jagriti Thakur working in unison to achieve this feat.
Kiran Wattal, CDM 38th National Games and Vice President of GFI, praised the gymnasts and their coaches Krupali Singh, SP Singh and Manish Gupta for their tireless efforts in improving the team’s performance. He also thanked the LG Manoj Sinha, Commissioner Secretary (YSS) Sarmad Hafiz and Secretary JKSC, Nuzhat Gull for providing world-class training facilities in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials from the Gymnastic Association of J&K, including Anil Kumar Khajuria and Dr. Goel, were present at the award ceremony to congratulate the athletes.
Meanwhile, J&K was also declared 2nd runners-up in Gymnastics Women’s category of National Games.
