JAMMU, Nov 17: Jammu & Kashmir put themselves in a commanding position in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-D clash against Hyderabad at the JKCA Hostel Ground, thanks to stellar performances from both their bowlers and batsmen.
Left-arm seamer Sunil Kumar starred with a five-wicket haul, while Aquib Nabi claimed four crucial wickets, skittling Hyderabad for just 121 runs in their second innings and giving J&K a first-innings lead of 49. Hyderabad had resumed from 88/6, with skipper Rahul Singh Gehlot top-scoring at 48.
In response, J&K’s batting was led by Kanhaiya Wadhawan (82 off 98 balls), Abdul Samad (77* off 134), and Qamran Iqbal (50), who remained unbeaten, steering the team to 275/4 in 71 overs, extending their overall lead to 324 runs. Vivrant Sharma also contributed a valuable 45 runs.
CTL Rakshann took 2 wickets for Hyderabad, while Kartikeya Kak and Tanay Thyagarajan claimed one wicket each. With a commanding lead and key players in form, J&K looks poised to seal a dominant victory as the match enters a decisive phase.
