JAMMU, Dec 8: Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) dominated Sikkim in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, winning by 9 wickets at Aditya Academy Ground, Kolkata, today.
Sikkim, after being put to bat, were bowled out for just 68 runs in 32.1 overs. Subba top-scored with 21 runs off 48 balls, while Leeza (10) was the only other batter in double figures. J&K’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Rudrakshi Chib taking 3 wickets for 8 runs in 3 overs. Sarla Devi and Ananaya Sharma claimed 2 wickets each, while Chitra Singh Jamwal, Sandhya Sayal, and Rubia Syed took one each.
In reply, J&K chased down the target of 69 in 8.5 overs, losing just one wicket. Skipper Jasia Akhtar top-scored with an unbeaten 37 off 25 balls, including 5 fours and a six. Rubia Syed contributed 27 off 27 balls with 4 boundaries. Chitra Singh remained not out on one run. This win follows J&K’s strong performances against Baroda and Railways in the tournament.
